Shango

Shango is the God of Thunder in the Yoruba religion of West Africa. Magic, thunder, and lightning characterize Shango's reign as the fourth ruler of the kingdom of Oyo. He was known to be a ruler that was both powerful and terrifying because of his destructive wrath. The chief weapon of Shango is his oshe, a double-headed battle-ax. Many say that the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, is based on the archetype of Shango.
